Hulu is a premier streaming service providing some of the best content available. Hulu’s anime catalog has grown substantially over the previous year and picking up one could be a confusing task.

In this post, I’ll be sharing with you a list of 20 Best Harem Animes on Hulu that has some of the best harem girls, great fan service, and a good story.

  • Logline: Ayato enrolls in a prestigious institute for superhumans in search of her sister.
  • Year: 2015
  • Genre: Comedy, Action
  • Studio: A-1 Pictures
The Asterisk War

If you have the patience that the story will improve in the later episodes, then only watch this anime or just skip it. The Asterisk War is your average harem anime on Hulu that you can watch when you are done with the better ones.

In the distant future, few humans have developed superhuman abilities and are trained in special academies. Ayato is one such guy, who joins Seidoukan Academy, he aims to find the whereabouts of his sister.

But by accident, he sees a popular female student naked and she challenges him to a duel. And thus beings a new phase in the life of Ayato.

  • Year: 2010
  • Genre: Action, Supernatural
  • Studio: Hoods Entertainment
The Qwaser of Stigmata

The plot of this harem anime on Hulu makes no sense but its uniqueness makes it fun to watch. All I recommend is for you to watch 2-3 episodes of this anime and then decide if you want to continue or not.

Shasha is a Qwaser, a person who can control an element and in his case, it’s ‘Iron’. In order to make the ability work, Qwasers need the power of “soma,” received through the act of breastfeeding.

Shasha saves two sisters from a Qwaser’s attack and enrolls in their school and tries to protect them from other foes.

18. Infinite Stratos

  • Year: 2011
  • Genre: Sci-fi, comedy
  • Studio: Sentai Filmworks
Infinite Stratos

Have you ever fantasized about the idea of joining an all-girls school? There’s no point in asking. You are exploring a list of harem anime on Hulu therefore I already know the answer.

Well, we know that wouldn’t be the wisest decision to make in real life. However, we can at least enjoy our fantasies being displayed in this Ecchi Action anime.

Infinity Stratos or IS is a piece of powerful machinery that only females can operate. But when it’s found that a boy named Ichika has the ability to steer an IS, he is transferred to an all-girls academy where they teach to pilot IS to students.

17. Maken-Ki!

Maken Ki Batteling Venus

Maken-ki is another average harem anime on Hulu that you can watch in your free time. The show runs on a decent plot and provides good fan service for its viewers.

Takeru is a perverted boy, he joins a newly turned co-ed school which was earlier an all-girls school. His dream was to surround himself with beautiful girls and have fun.

But he soon realizes that it is no normal school, students here have the power to wield magical weapons called Maken and use them to fight. Now, Takeru has to find a way to fit in with all the special students.

16. Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero

  • Year: 2012
  • Genre: Ecchi, Action, Harem
  • Studio: Arms
Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero

Enough of stupid and silly MCs who spend half a season crying around and figuring out their superpowers. Here we have a highly overpowered MC who is not just a badass but a badass with a swag.

It’s a clear yay or nay, either you like it or hate it. I recommend this show to those holding a Hulu subscription and a have a liking for a badass OP protagonist.

A fantasy world called Alayzard attracts many humans for being a place of swords and magic. Those who are lucky enough to survive there are blessed with magical powers. People who receive these powers are further trained on Earth by an organization called the Babel.

The Rogue Hero, Akatsuki Ousawa is one of the returnees who come back with the demon king’s daughter Miu. Both join forces to unveil the dark secret behind the Bebel Organisation.

15. To Love-Ru

  • Logline: A tragic story of Rito Yuki who unexpectedly meets a runaway beautiful alien girl.
  • Year: 2006
  • Genre: Alien Life
  • Studio: Xebec
To Love ru

To Love-Ru is undoubtedly one of the best ecchi harem anime on Hulu. The great thing about it is that it puts comical punches before fan service that adds to the liveliness of the show.

Rito Yuki is a shy 16-year-old boy. His life turns upside down when an alien naked girl falls right above him. Named Lala the girl is a princess of an alien planet called Deviluke.

To Love-Ru unfurls the challenges faced by Rito after Lala arrives in his life.

14. Shuffle

  • Logline: Rin finds himself sought after by a variety of girls.
  • Year: 2003
  • Genre: Fantasy
  • Studio: Asread

Shuffle meets all criteria of a comical ecchi harem anime but the profound character depth makes it stand apart from other animes.

This anime is set up in a fictional region where all humans, demons, and gods live together in harmony.

The story follows a 17-year-old orphaned human boy Rin who lives with his friend. His life changes when families of both, king of demons and king of gods become his immediate neighbors.

The daughters of both families are in love with Rin. Now it’s for him to decide to choose between the demons or the gods.

13. Rosario to Vampire

  • Logline:  A sweet relationship between a powerful vampire girl and an ordinary boy.
  • Year: 2008
  • Genre: Comedy, Romance
  • Studio: Gonzo
Rosario Vampire

Rosario to Vampire is your typical high school harem drama with comedy and ecchi filled in it. I’d recommend you to check the manga of this anime which is its source material. Because it is more serious and not filled with fan service if that’s what you prefer.

Tsukune is an ordinary boy who joins a mysterious high school for monsters by mistake. He has to hide his identity to protect his life. Meanwhile, he meets Moka, a very powerful vampire, she takes a liking to Tsukune and the fun adventure begins.

12. We Never Learn

  • Logline:  An intelligent high school senior has to teach school geniuses in their weakest subjects.
  • Year: 2019
  • Genre: Comedy
  • Studio: Silver, Arvo Animation

This is one of the anime I can recommend to anyone. Even if you aren’t into harem or ecchi, We Never Learn is a comical tragedy sewed into a harem that provides sheer entertainment in every episode. It’s a show with plenty of nonveg jokes, and hilarious comedy.

Nariyuki Yuiga is a hard-working high school student who has received a scholarship for his university studies. To keep hold of university scholarships, Nariyuki Yuiga must teach school geniuses in their weakest subjects.

Nariyuki has no option left but to teach the geniuses. His pupils are five beautiful girls who are masters in their subjects. We Never Learn follows the adventures of Nariyuki teaching his pupils using strange and comical methods.

11. Arifureta

  • Logline: Hajime Nagumo gains a useless power when summoned to a fantasy world.
  • Year: 2010
  • Genre: Action, Harem
  • Studio: Light Novel

Fanservice and ecchi are okay but the real fun lies in watching an anime that holds all this absurdity together with a promising and interesting storyline. Arifureta is one such harem masterpiece that made me its fan, not for its fanservice but the exciting life of the protagonist portrayed in the show.

Hajime Nagumo was happily living a life of an otaku. Till one day when he and his classmates were summoned to a fantasy world to save humanity. Each one is bestowed with supernatural powers but Hajime wasn’t lucky enough to gain any significant powers. Adding to the misery, he is betrayed by one of his classmates during an expedition causing him to fell into a dungeon.

The story then follows Hajime’s struggle for survival with few other imprisoned survivor girls he encounters while fighting monsters at the dungeon.

  • Year: 2007
  • Genre: School, Romance, Slice of Life, Harem
  • Studio: Kyoto Animation

Don’t judge my anime choices when I say I have watched Clannad 3 times since I first watched it when I was in High School.

Storywise, this might not be the best show on the list. But its humane plot, slapstick comedy, and rightfully done fanservice make this show one of my most cherished ones.

It orbits around a high schooler named Tomoya Okazaki who is confused about the choices he makes in life. He lacks interest in studies and hardly attends any of his classes.

When he becomes friends with Nagisa, he decided to solve her problems related to the school drama club. Eventually, he befriends more girls and gets determined to solve their problems too.

9. Seikirei

  • Logline:  Failing college entrance twice, Minato regains willpower after learning about his superhuman abilities.
  • Year: 2008
  • Genre: Comedy
  • Studio: Seven Arcs

For the lovers of ecchi and harem, Sekirei is no disappointment. Sekirei has everything to be called a worthy harem anime. Great ecchi scenes, and a lot of beautiful anime women. Also, the show doesn’t compromise on its plot.

Minato’s life is thrilled when a beautiful female being called Sekirei falls from the sky and lands in front of him. Her name is Musubi and she realizes that Minato awakens the power within a Sekirei when coming in close contact with (I’ll leave the guessing to you).

  • Logline: A story of a guy who is a skeptic of love and a girl who is disgusted by it.
  • Year: 2013
  • Genre: Comedy, Romance
  • Studio: A-1 Pictures

Oreshura is a romantic comedy that you can watch if you looking for light-hearted harem anime on Hulu. It’s a perfect feel-good anime that’ll make you happy.

Eita Kidou doesn’t believe in love because of his parent’s infidelity. So he focuses on studies. Masuzu Natsukawa is the most desired girl of school but she is disgusted by love.

She forces Eita to fake a relationship with her to get rid of the attention. Eita’s life turns as turned upside down as now he becomes the center of attraction of his peers.

  • Logline: Kodaka feels lonely and can’t make any friends until one day he finds a fellow girl who matched his situation.
  • Year: 2011
  • Genre: Harem, School
  • Studio: AIC Build

In between intense fanservice and ecchi drama, there are some creatively made shows like Haganai. The show features a lively plot centered around “how to make friends” with just the right amount of ecchi and comedy.

It follows the story of a teenage boy named Kodaka Hasegawa whose life is all about the title. When Kodaka gets transferred to a new school his excitement of making new friends shatters apart when he gets labeled as a troublemaker on the first day of his school.

He is unable to find a match until one day he meets a fellow girl who is in the same situation as him. After sharing their lonely high school stories both realize that there must be many people like them who aren’t able to fit in the society.

Finally, they decide to open The Neighbors Club. A place for loners to interact with like-minded people and make friends.

  • Logline: Revived as a Zombie, Ayumu Aikawa is in search of his killer.
  • Year: 2011
  • Genre: Action, Comedy
  • Studio: Studio Deen
Is this a Zombie

Is this a Zombie is among the funniest harem anime on Hulu. But not just that, it packs a good amount of action too. If you watch it with less expectation, I am sure you’ll enjoy it.

Ayumu Aikawa is a young boy who gets murdered while investigating a suspicious house. To his luck, he is revived by a necromancer as a zombie.

Now the anime follows the daily life of the human-turned-zombie Ayumu as he tries to get hold of his new reality where supernatural becomes the norm.

Date a Live

No matter how you criticize it, the trend of manga adaptations will never come to an end, especially when it comes to ecchi harem mangas. Adding to the trend is another popular anime from the year 2013- Date A Live.

This anime sets up in a disastrous world constantly prone to space quakes. In an attempt to save his sister from a space quake Shidou Itsuka gets caught up between the source of the eruption.

It is discovered that the space quakes were triggered by the appearance of mystical spirit girls and the only way to stop them is to make them fall in love. Shidou has no options left to take charge of the situation and use his non-existing dating powers to save the world.

  • Studio: J.C. Staff
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon

Next up we have the longest title of our list: Is It Okay To Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon. The show sets up in a fictional world called Orario. It’s a place where commoners come for travel, sports, and most importantly to engage in a quest in the dungeon to defeat the evil monsters.

In these dungeon live Gods who have come down from heaven with limited powers. They have formed their own families that people can join. Hestia is a goddess that is not very popular so no one is joining her family until she meets Bell who is looking for a family.

  • Logline: The story follows a bunch of high school kids surviving in the middle of a zombie outbreak.
  •  Year: 2010
  • Genre: Horror, Supernatural
  • Studio: Madhouse
High School of the Dead 1

Madhouse never misses a chance to make the most out of a well-written manga. High school of the Dead is a result of one such manga that got adapted as an anime series in 2010. Since then this series has dominated the apocalypse genre with just one season. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a second season because of the unfortunate passing of the manga writer.

The story revolves around Takashi Kimuro and a bunch of high school children who are on a constant run from the zombies.

It all starts on the day when Takashi notices an unusual incident on a school gate when school personnel gets eaten by a weird behaving outsider. Moments after that the whole school falls into chaos as more and more students start turning into zombies.

2. Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls

  • Logline: Kurusu is surrounded by women of different species who are desperate to make love with him.
  • Year: 2015
  • Genre: Romance
  • Studio: Lerche
Monster Musume Everyday Life with Monster Girls

Monster Musume is the answer to the weirdest sexual fantasies of an otaku- to be surrounded by busty alien girls. Although I have talked about it a lot in my other listing related to harem and ecchi, its weight among other harem anime available on Hulu is much higher than you can imagine.

The story follows Kurusu Kimihito, a tall, handsome, and innocent man who likes to be gentle with women. One day Kurusu witness an unexpected guest at his front door, a girl from an alien species named Miia.

Fortunately or Unfortunately Kurusu gets attracted by five other beautiful alien girls. Seeking romantic affections these girls will do anything to be with Kurusu which takes the heights of an ecchi and harem anime to another level.

Undoubtedly one of the best ecchi harem anime on not just Hulu but every other streaming service. Not only harem, High School DxD sets a milestone for its unique story, striking action, amazing character dramatization, and plenty of ecchi scenes.

Issei Hyoudou is a high school student who dreams of owning his harem of beautiful ladies. Chasing his pervy desires, he gets killed on his first date as the girl turns out to be a fallen angel. He gets a second chance to live as a demon when a beautiful devil master revives him as his servant.
