New TV anime “Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf” to Air in 2024, PV Released with Jun Fukuyama and Ami Koshimizu Returning
The complete new TV anime “Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf” has been confirmed to air in 2024. The first PV has been released, and it has been announced that Jun Fukuyama (as Kraft Lawrence) and Ami Koshimizu (as Holo) will reprise their voice-acting roles from the previous anime series.
In the released PV, the character voices of Lawrence and Holo can be heard, and viewers can catch a glimpse of their iconic meeting scene and Holo’s expressive demeanor. Additionally, the concept visual showcases a cheerful Holo in front of her favorite food, apples, while Lawrence watches over her with a gentle gaze, depicting a scene from their journey.
Based on the light novel of the same name, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2021, “Spice and Wolf” gained popularity as an economic fantasy set in a medieval European-inspired world where swords and magic take a backseat. The anime series aired its first season in 2008, followed by the second season in 2009. This new anime will mark the first completely new installment in 15 years.
A comment from Jun Fukuyama “I’m Jun Fukuyama, voicing the character of Lawrence. I never imagined that I would get the chance to play Lawrence again in another anime series. Furthermore, until I received the script, I thought it was a sequel, so I was honestly surprised when I read it. Despite that, since I’ve been given this opportunity once again, I intend to do my best, taking into account the experiences from back then.”
