After fans from all corners of the globe cast their votes in the NARUTOP99 Worldwide Character Popularity Poll, it was only fitting that the winner received a one-shot manga dedicated to their greatness. And with Minato Namikaze reigning supreme, Kishimoto couldn’t resist announcing Minato.

Titled “NARUTO Gaiden: Uzu no Naka no Tsumujikaze,” the Minato manga is gearing up to make its grand debut in the hallowed pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 33 on July 18, 2023. But hold your kunai, there’s a bit of confusion in the air. While the announcement mentions a Tuesday release, eagle-eyed fans are speculating that the issue might hit stands a day earlier, on Monday, July 17, considering the international release pattern of Weekly Shonen Jump.

Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 33 holds a double celebration as it commemorates the magazine’s 55th anniversary. And what better way to honor the occasion than by gracing its pages with Kishimoto’s brand-new creation? This 55-page one-shot manga promises to be a treat for fans, complete with color centerfold feature pages that will undoubtedly make hearts skip a beat.

As for the story Kishimota previously had prompted us- “Right now I’m working on the short manga for Minato who placed 1st. While trying to make a story that would match the expectations of his fans, I ended up with more pages than I had originally anticipated. Please look forward to the story behind Minato’s jutsu!”
