A woman’s heart is transplanted into Tian to save his life. He decides to know more about his donor. Tian discovers that she was a teacher and was in love with a man named Phupha.
Tian wants to know about the guy and become a volunteer teacher and meet Phupha. As the two guys get closer, Tian feels a special attraction towards him.
2. Lovely Writer
- Logline: A sweet story of the relationship between a writer and an actor.
- Genre: Comedy, Romance, Drama
- Cast: Up Poompat, Kao Noppakao, Chap Suppacheep
Lovely Writer is another new Thai drama that grabbed a lot of eyeballs this year. It became a sensation among the Thai drama lover and for the right reasons.
The show brought a different kind of freshness to the BL romance genre that people appreciated. The drama doesn’t hold back in showing intimate and controversial scenes, which makes it a treat to watch.
Synopsis
Gene is a popular writer whose new super successful romance novel is being converted into a drama series. During the auditions for the main lead, Gene meets Nubsib, an actor auditioning for that role.
Nubsib acts polite but is a wolf in reality and deceives Gene, thus beginning a new chapter in the writer’s life.
3. Fish Upon the Sky

4. I Promised You the Moon

This new Thai drama is the second season 2 of the very famous Thai BL drama called I told Sunset about You. It is a great sequel for a great show and will definitely satisfy the lovers of the original series.

Teh and Oh-aew are in a relationship and having a good time together. But in college Teh develops feelings for his senior and Oh-aew notices this change in Teh. Will their relationship falter or will two make it through this tough time?
5. Don’t Say No

Don’t Say No is the spin-off story of a very popular Thai Bl drama called Tharn Type. The supporting characters of that show are given their own new drama and it is a treat to watch for all those who loved them from previous drama and wanted to see more.

The story revolves around Leo and Fiat, two very different men in personality. They started out as friends and over time they grew closer to each other and their relationships turn romantic.
But how will this relationship go, when one is a good guy but the other one is a bad boy?
6. Girl From Nowhere Season 2
- Logline: A mysterious, clever girl transfers to different schools, exposing the lies and misdeeds of the students and faculty at every turn.

As the name clearly states, this new Thai drama is the sequel to the popular show that came out in 2018. Unlike most dramas on this list that revolve around comedy and romance, Girl from Nowhere is a dark and serious Thai drama that can creep many people out.
Synopsis
Nanno is a cheerful and goofy girl from the outside but deep down she is a sociopath and very dangerous and manipulative.
She changes schools quite often and targets kids and staff at the school who have a dark secret and tempts them to go beyond and reach their doom.
7. Bite Me
- Logline: A prominent Chef finds the magical ingredient he missed throughout his career.
- Genre: Cooking, Romance
- Cast: Mark Siwan Jumlongkul, Zung Kidarwan Chatkaewmanee, Toon Atirotj Saengtein
Bite me is an ongoing Thai drama that has released nine episodes to the date I am writing this article. A new episode drops every Sunday.
Also known as Grab Me A Bite To Eat, the drama has been gaining huge popularity in the Asian continent and is likely to become one of the most popular Thai bl of 2021. It does lack the vibrancy of a cooking genre show but performs magnificently on part of the storyline.
Synopsis
Eua is a great chef and considering the feedback he gets on his food, he is confident about his skills. He runs into a cooking show called the Chef Master. To Eua’s surprise, having all the experience and skills couldn’t help him win.
After losing, he is desperate to know what quality he lacks as a chef. His search ends on an unexpected event when he meets a delivery boy who exhibits extraordinary cooking skills.
8. The Best Story
- Logline: The only thing best about the protagonist is his name.
- Genre: School, Romance
- Cast: Yin Anan Wong, War Wanarat, Bonz Nadol, prat Ltthichaichar
A creatively titled drama is always hard to ignore. Topping it off, the synopsis makes you just watch it right away. At first, this looks like it’s all about the main character.
But actually, it is more inclined towards the efforts of side characters in making the protagonists succeed his way through.

The story revolves around a troubled boy named Best. Suffering the irony of his life, he falls for the most popular guy in school, Dew. He asks his best friends Bright & Ray to help him accomplish his nearly impossible fantasy.
One day best discovers that Dew is a member of the school’s music club. He befriends Dew’s best friends and joins the club without any knowledge of music.
9. Let’s Fight Ghost
- Logline: Issawa has a mysterious ability to see and fight ghosts.

Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, let’s Fight Ghost is the latest Netflix Thai Drama ascending the popularity chart among the latest Thai shows.
Although horror-comedy isn’t the most unique concept in Asian dramas, the hype it created during the past few months tempted me to watch it anyway.
Synopsis
Our protagonist is born with an extraordinary ability to not just see ghosts but actually fight them off. Issawa studies in college and works as a part-time exorcist to earn money for his college fee and rent.
One day he encounters a ghost of a high school girl who has been dead for five years. During their face-off they accidentally kiss the lips, triggering a sparkling reaction and bringing the ghost back to life.
10. 46 Days
- Logline: Caught up in a drama of horoscopes and love, Ying Ying and Noina must take calculated steps to achieve their goal.
- Genre: Comedy, Romance

For the lovers of Rom-Com, a drama couldn’t get any better than this. A complete package of entertainment that keeps you hooked throughout.
46 Days brings together a hilarious set of characters that knits a romantic tale around their comical happenings. You could be a follower of any drama genre but you cannot dare to skip this rom-com in 2021.
Synopsis
This show tells the story of an unpopular social media influencer Ying Ying. After one of her video clips goes viral she finds it hard to gain back her follower’s sympathy.
On the side, she must help her friend Noina to get married and pay back her debt.
Upcoming Thai Dramas
11. Love Mechanics
- Logline: A love story filled with lots of drama.
- Genre: Romance
- Cast: War Wanarat, Yin Anan Wong, Prom Ratchapat
Love Mechanics is one of the most anticipated upcoming Thai dramas that will air in 2022. The reason is that it is the parallel story (16 episodes) of a Thai drama (same name) that was released in 2020 and just had 4 episodes.
Synopsis
Mark and Vee meet when they were at a very low point in their lives and their first interaction ends up in a one-night stand. The two try to give meaning to their relationship, all the while trying to sort out their already messy lives.
12. Cutie Pie
- Logline: A story of two guys who are forced into an arranged marriage by their families.
- Genre: Romance
- Cast: Zee Pruk Panich, New Chawarin, Yim Pharinyakorn
Cutie Pie is one upcoming Thai drama that I am very excited about after watching the trailer for the drama. From the looks of the trailer, it seems the show will be quite grand and unique in its approach
Synopsis
Gilayn Wang and Kuea Keerati are sons of two big company owners and are made to marry each other by their families as a way to boost the business. But the problem is one doesn’t want an arranged marriage while the other wants to win him over.
13. Remember 15
- Logline: A text message from a dead girl brings chaos to the lives of the receivers.
- Genre: Horror, Drama
- Cast: Kaimuk Nilawan, Tommy Sittichok, Zee Pruk
I am a huge fan of the horror genre and after reading the synopsis of this upcoming Thai drama, I can’t wait till Feb 2022, that’s when it’ll release. I have a lot of expectations from the series and I hope it won’t disappoint.
Synopsis
12 people receive a text from a girl who committed suicide 5 years ago. All gather at the isolated island where the girl died to pay respect and find the truth behind the message. But as the truth starts to unravel little by little, the real dark side of those 12 people comes to the surface.
14. Fahlanruk
- Logline: A story of two people who like each other but are afraid of love.
- Genre: Romance, Drama
- Cast: James Thanaboon, Tonkhao Chayuth, Tong Pathcharaphon
Another upcoming Thai drama that is keeping me on my toes is Fahlanruk. It is BL story revolving around the ‘ Freinds with benefits’ trope which not very common and I am intrigued to see how the story will play out.
Synopsis
Fahlan and Sherbet are two smart and handsome students who start their relationship as friends with benefits. But over time two develop feelings for each other but no one is willing to take the next step.
15. Bad Romeo
- Logline: A story of a lonely girl who falls in love with a man that claims to be from another time period.
- Genre: Horror, Drama
- Cast: Kaimuk Nilawan, Tommy Sittichok, Zee Pruk
Among all the upcoming Thai dramas that I am really waiting for to release, Bad Romeo releases the earliest i.e in late December this year. The plot looks promising and I am ready for the experience this drama’s gonna provide.
Synopsis
There is not much info about the series except that it’s about a girl who lives a loner’s life but that all changes when a man enters her life who claims that he came from a different time period.
