HIDIVE has announced that it will be streaming the highly anticipated second season of Daisuke Aizawa’s The Eminence in Shadow light novel series. The anime will be available with both English subtitles and an English dub, and it will be premiered on the same day as its release in Japan. To build excitement, HIDIVE has released an English-subtitled trailer for the upcoming season.
In addition, HIDIVE and Kadokawa will host a world premiere screening of the anime at Anime Expo, a prestigious anime convention. The subtitled premiere will take place on July 1, while the English-dubbed premiere is scheduled for July 4.
The second season of The Eminence in Shadow is set to premiere in October and will consist of 12 episodes. The original staff members are returning for this new season, with the anime being produced by studio Nexus.
The story follows Cid, a character who aspires to be a behind-the-scenes mastermind rather than a typical hero or villain. After being transported to another world, Cid creates an underground organization called Shadow Garden to fight against an imaginary cult. However, he soon discovers that the cult actually exists and his power fantasy has inadvertently interfered with their evil plans.
The anime adaptation is directed by Kazuya Nakanishi, known for his work on Darwin’s Game, and the character designs are handled by Makoto Iino. Kanichi Katou is overseeing the series scripts, and the music is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro. Both the light novels and the manga adaptation of The Eminence in Shadow have been licensed by Yen Press.
With the second season approaching, fans of the series can look forward to an immersive and thrilling continuation of Cid’s adventure.
